Willy Chavarria’s Spring-Summer 2025 collection, presented during New York Fashion Week, debuted as a two-part show titled AMÉRICA.
The set design emphasized an interplay between venue and scenography, reflecting the socio, political and economic themes that define Chavarria’s collection:
Part I
Located in the detritus of a Wall Street monument, the set carved out a holy space with the United States Flag suspended at the altar. Part I is, fittingly, accompanied by a custom classical orchestral soundtrack.
Part II – Willy Chavarria x Adidas Collaboration
The set design shifts dramatically, drawing deep inspiration from counterculture and underground spaces. Heavy haze, red lights, and techno beats recontextualizes the dilapidated building. The once-sacred environment is transformed into a warehouse rave on Wall Street, subverting, yet again, the earlier reverence into something much more raw and energetic.
“For in the eyes of God, we are all one people deserving of dignity and grace.”
